Oh, Yes I DID: Part II
I got a lot of comments during the tour of homes about my PEZ dispensers. I get a lot of that when people come to my home in real life too. It is kind of, well, odd. But anybody who knows me knows that I have this goofy PEZ collection. (And some of the people who know me have even been involved in an elaborate plot to free said dispensers when they were kidnapped and held for ransom... but that is another story for another time.)
But, the people who know me in real life almost all know one other little PEZzy detail that you in blogdom don't. So, in light of all the comments the dispensers garnered last week, and the fact that Paul and I just celebrated our seventh anniversary, I thought I'd let you all in on that last little detail.
The cake topper from our wedding cake:
Oh, yes I did.
And the only thing that would have made it more cheesy would be if I had adorned it with teeny-tiny flashing lights.
Oh, wait, I DID THAT TOO!

Oh my word. Too funny.
And you need to send me your address, because you left a certain Yoda Pez dispenser in my car.
Oh yes you did. :-)
whahahah haha hahahaha SNORT! That is way too funny!
HAHAHA! I LOVE it. Did you make it, order it or how did you find it?
Wait a minute? Lori brought her Pez dispensers? I didn't know that. Man, I missed out on so much getting there late!
And Lori, I'm shocked, and yet ... not about your cake topper. Pretty cute! :D
You wanna know my wedding secret? We were announced husband and wife, and then we exited the auditorium to music from the Star Wars soundtrack. (the things we do for love.)
Boo - keep the PEZ. I got another Yoda safe inside the case.
Addie - you didn't miss much. It was one dispenser on display for approximately 2.5 seconds.
Kristina - I made the entire thing. Bought a Barbie and a Ken, popped their heads off, and stuck them on some bases to some dispensers I'd also decapitated. I cut all the balsa wood and popsicle sticks. (The base is hexagonal. A protractor was involved.) Bought a "bridal" outfit for a Barbie and made a tie out of ribbon for my man. Then I went to town with my hot glue gun... I'm crafty like that.
Wow-- I'm speechless. I don't know what astounds me more: your cake topper or Addie's recessional music!!! :)
This may be the cutest thing I've ever seen. You are one serious collector! I have to know. The groom. What was he originally? I'm trying to think of what that black base could have been. Oh wait. You painted it, right? Oh, the questions rattlin' around in my head.
Ok, wow. The post didn't surprise/scare me as much as that explanation you just gave in the comments as to how you made it. Wow. And, no offense, but what a nerd...you got out a protractor to do it??? My engineer hubby would be so proud. :-) But super crafty and creative you are...not nerdy at all!
Too funny!
You were pretty high on the NERD scale, weren't you? ;-)
BTW - isn't it BAD BLOGGING ETTIQUETTE to keep reminding others that you guys got to MIRL, while the others of us are stuck with hearing about it?! So, keep those comments about your wonderful trip to Savannah to yourselves, please (kidding...I'm kidding!)
AJ- Okay the protractor - necessary to get the right angle on adjoining pieces of wood. Nerdy perhaps, but I like that I can craft something from scratch and make it turn out how I want, even if it means using a protractor!
And I freely admit that I am nerdy. But creative too. When you add in that I'm funny, that makes me one in 1,237,295,930 (according to my calculations.)
Barb - I didn't paint the dispensers. The black one was (I think) a Dearth Vader (spelling?) Or maybe the white one was... there is that one Vader looking thing that is white... One of them was. I don't remember what the other one started out as.
Well- happy anniversary, first! And that cake topper rocks! I always love it when people customize wedding things to their own interests. My sister's husband loves to bow-hunt, so they had me make two little cartoon-ee elk cake toppers for their cake. Fun stuff!
Happy Anniversay! What a wonderful day to behold.
And you are PEZ crazy, aren't you? That just cracks me UP!
I LOVE that you had Pez cake toppers!!! Love, love, love it! And really, why wouldn't you have added the lights? It only seems the right thing to do.
Happy Anniversary!
Lori--I'm just jealous that you even know how to use a protractor. Seriously, wouldn't know where to start. That's probably why my projects always end up slightly "off." Gotta leave it up to hubby if anything is to turn out just right. I would have said you were one in a million, but I stand corrected!!! One in over a billion it is! :-) Blessings and Happy Anniversary!
Ok, that has to be one the funnest (not funniest, even though it is funny) things I have ever seen regarding a wedding detail! Rock on Mama Pez!
Lori, I remember that wedding topper! And it didn't even really surprise most of us because it was so you! Seven years, wow, has it been that long?! I still remember dancing to the '80's music at the reception, and being so happy for you and Paul. Which I still am! Happy anniversary! Love you guys!
I tried to e-mail this to you...just in case it didn't go through I'll send it to you via comments.
I'm not sure if you've seen this, but I of course thought of you immediately!

Hi, Lori, sorry so late in getting back to comment here. I've been gone on a mini-trip to Gulfport/Biloxi, Mississippi. :-)
Happy Anniversary, late!! Many happy returns of the day. :-)
You're welcome for the link. I really relate to your posts on housework and your relationship with God. I'm pretty choosy who I link, and I probably won't be adding many more, if any.
Have a good Thursday. :-)
You are a trip! And creative too, I think you could actually sell those on Ebay and make some bucks.
Happy Belated Anniversary!!
Oh, you beautiful, beautiful THING! My day just got a whole lot better.
